She’s got a multi-million-dollar media empire, a reality TV show, three-kids under five, and a body that’s the envy of thousands of women across the world.
So when it comes to finding the time to maintain a balanced diet, we can’t help but wonder exactly how Kim Kardashian does it.
Insert: her personal trainer, Melissa Alcantara.
Aside from taking the mum-of-two through grueling workouts six days a week, she’s also in charge of ensuring the star keeps her eating habits in check.
“I want her to eat real food that’s cooked every day,” the former bodybuilder tells PEOPLE.
That means processed foods (aka. biscuits, bread, sauces and salad dressings) are strictly off-limits.
“Most likely if it comes out of a box, it’s not going to be good for you,” Melissa says, adding:
“She’s eating well and she’s feeling good.”
To keep her full, the mum-of-two starts the day with blueberry oatmeal pancakes: “Kim loves them!”
Lunch is all about balancing protein and carbs with a serve of chicken, sweet potatoes and veggies.
And for dinner? The reality chows down on fish and veg (which is an awesome source of omega-3 fatty acids).
“Kim told me the other day, ‘This is the most vegetables I’ve ever eaten!’” Melissa says.
Sounds pretty straight-forward to us, but there’s no doubting it would take a LOT of willpower to eat this clean 24/7.
And while Melissa does encourage her to indulge in treats every now and then (banana bread, coz delish), it seems Kim’s pretty determined to stick to her healthy habits.
“Recently she told me she had some fries that were really greasy and it made her stomach feel bad because she wasn’t used to it. Which is great because after that, you’re less likely to go for those foods!” Melissa says.
Yeahhhhh, considering we practically treat fries as its own food group, we’ll have to take your word for it, Kimmy. But whatever works!
