They include mushrooms, cabbage, spinach, carrots, and peppers.

These vegetables are packed full of vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin K.

They’re also a great source of soluble fibre, which has been claimed to lower blood sugar levels.

“There are certain foods that provide huge health benefits for people with diabetes. They are often known as ‘diabetes superfoods’,” it said.

“Non-starchy vegetables are perhaps the single best food type for people with type 2 diabetes.

“Non-starchy vegetables are also a source of soluble fibre, which lowers blood glucose levels and reduces levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol.

“It’s impossible to overdo non-starchy vegetables. The American Diabetes Association recommends covering at least half of your plate with non-starchy vegetables at meal times.”

Meanwhile, you could also lower your blood sugar levels by eating more cinnamon.

Cinnamon is a great choice of spice for diabetes patients, as it increases insulin sensitivity.

But you should avoid drinking too much fruit juice, it added.

Some fruit juices are considered to be a healthy option, but they may actually be causing blood sugar spikes.

Many people may have diabetes without even knowing it, because the signs and symptoms don’t necessarily make you feel unwell.

Common diabetes symptoms include having cuts or wounds that take longer to heal, having an unquenchable thirst, and passing more urine than normal.
