The Fragrance Foundation Announces Frédéric Malle as Game Changer Honoree

The Fragrance Foundation has announced Frédéric Malle as its 2018 Game Changer honoree. Malle will be honored at this year’s Fragrance Foundation Awards. The Game Changer award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact in the fragrance world. Malle has gained recognition for putting perfumers at the forefront of his fragrances from his namesake brand, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, since he founded it in 2000. He has collaborated with numerous perfumers and has become known for giving perfumers creative freedom to create his brand’s fragrances.”I feel that I just put things back in their rightful place,” Malle said on receiving the honor. “At a time when people were concentrating on image, I put perfume back at the center of things. We made choosing a perfume a real experience. None of this would have been possible without the enthusiasm of the best perfumers in the industry. I owe them so much.”This year’s Fragrance Foundation Awards will be held on June 12 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, which will be hosted by actress Jane Krakowski. The ceremony will also honor Ann Gottlieb, perfumer and Hall of Fame honoree, and Olivier Cresp, master perfumer at Firmenich, who will receive the Lifetime Perfumer Achievement award.“I am very pleased we are honoring Frédéric Malle as the 2018 Game Changer,” said Linda Levy, president of The Fragrance Foundation. “His great success with his brand has allowed the story of the perfumer to be told to the fragrance consumer.”
