The Actress Who Plays Gypsy Rose In 'The Act' Is Beyond Ripped, IRL

  • Actress Joey King, best known for her role as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in Hulu’s The Act, shared a photo showcasing her super-toned abs.
  • Joey, 19, shared the photo during a nature-packed trip to South Africa
  • Joey loves to eat well and exercise, but her takes on diet, exercise, and body image are super refreshing.

You may know actress Joey King for her role as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in Hulu’s The Act—but underneath the Cinderella costumes and she wore for her character, Joey’s got some killer abs.

Joey, 19, recently shared some stunning photos from a nature-packed trip in South Africa, but rather than zoom in on the gorgeous sunset shot she shared, I can’t help but to celebrate her core. Girl is ripped.

“Crossed hiking Table Mountain off my bucket list,” Joey wrote, captioning the Instagram photo. “Saw a beautiful sunrise on the way up, and had pancakes for breakfast…what a Sunday.”

Joey opened up about food and body image in an interview with The New Potato in 2017, and her take is truly inspiring. “Most importantly, above all else, I practice self-love,” she told the publication. “Your inner beauty shines when you are emotionally and physically kind to yourself.”

Joey’s outlook on food is just as real and refreshing: “As far as diet and exercise go, I try to eat as healthfully as possible, but I don’t make myself crazy,” she said. “If I’m craving a piece of bread or a bowl of pasta, sometimes I just need to listen to my body and indulge. You definitely have to find a balance, though, because eating the right things has incredible health and healing benefits. It’s not about how you look–it’s about taking care of your body so you can be the best you.” A-freaking-men.

Everything you need to know about Hulu’s The Act:

As for her workouts, Joey told The New Potato that she aims to workout four to five times a week—but that’s if she’s “feeling really motivated.” The actress likes to run and loves to box, because she feels so focused when she’s doing it. “I absolutely love exercise because I feel energetic and happy when I work out on a regular basis, but sometimes “vegging out” is so necessary,” she added.

But Joey, who also starred in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth, doesn’t just want her appearance to be the focus of her social media account, she said an interview with Schon Magazine, a London-based publication.

On her accounts, she’s publicly supported movements and programs like “March For Our Lives,” Meals on Wheels and pet adoption. “Social media can be looked at as a gift to people who have a plentiful amount of followers,” she told the magazine. “Using your voice as much as your comfortable with is something I think is so important.”

Honestly, I am very into Joey’s vibe, and can’t wait to see what else she does (and OK, what other ab shots she posts).
