In the middle of the corona of a crisis: How to master the time change the best

The clocks do it automatically, all the other watches we have to think of this weekend and in the night on Sunday (29. March) from 2.00 to 3.00 PM.

This changeover to the summer time, however, is a challenge.

“In the past, go to bed and fall asleep, is hard for us”, says Hans-Günter Blind, Director of the sleep center, hospital of the Palatinate.

“The internal clock is sluggish and does not adjust so quickly to the social time,” says sleep researcher. It would be Ideal to already be in the days before each of a little earlier went to bed.

Before you fall Asleep down

In order to fall Asleep easier, recommends Blind to the surroundings for about an hour before the slow shut down to attenuate the light in the apartment and to consume any media anymore.

“Just in the Corona times, we should, before the Sleep, no terror messages to read, which will disturb us,” says Blind.

It would be better to deal with beautiful things: “Everything is suitable, which gives us safety and security. Because these feelings help us to inner peace.”

Rituals are also good for: relaxation exercises, a book, a fantasy trip, a book to read, but, better still, not exciting Thriller.

A solid sleep cycle is important

People who are currently working a lot in the home office, should not work during the day in the bedroom, advises Blind: “Otherwise, we will think of before Sleeping on unfinished things.”

And you should keep a fixed day sleep rhythm and roughly the usual times keep. “Of course, we must get up, if possible, a little later.”

This is in particular for young people in order to get otherwise, often too little sleep. “But not up in the morning not to sleep, otherwise we build up enough sleep pressure across the day.”

In any case, you should be put under pressure: “tension is the enemy of sleep.”
