Pregnant Meghan Markle Wakes Up At 4:30 A.M. To Practice Yoga

Meghan Markle started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her mother, a yoga instructor, when she was 7 years old (cue the awwws). But now that she’s expecting, she’s doing a different type of mommy-and-me flows—the type that requires waking up before the crack of dawn.

I know what you’re thinking: why tho? Well, apparently because her pregnancy has seriously messed with her sleep schedule.

During Meghan and Prince Harry’s royal tour of Australia, the Duchess of TK told an Australian local named Charlotte Connell (who also happens to be pregnant, btw) that her little one has already been keeping her up at night. “Meghan told me that pregnancy was like having jet lag,” Charlotte told Sky News. “She said she was up at 4:30 a.m. this morning doing yoga in her room, as she couldn’t sleep.”



Meghan has said she was “very resistant” to doing yoga as a kid, but her mom kept encouraging her. “She said, ‘Flower, you will find your practice–just give it time,’” Meghan said. “In college, I started doing it more regularly.”

Apparently Meghan even incorporates yoga into her other workouts. Her trainer of three years, Craig McNamee, previously told Women’s Health that they’d often “take into account any yoga postures she was trying to improve, and focus our efforts in those areas.”

“Fitness definitely takes priority; she’s very focused on her health,” Craig said.
