Luke Evans is the kind of actor you instantly recognize, even if you might not be sure from where right away. He’s appeared in everything, from mythical epics like Immortals and Clash of the Titans, to horror movie Ma, to the Hobbit trilogy, to mystery show The Alienist.
But he is still best known for portraying Gaston, the swole embodiment of toxic masculiniy, in 2017’s remake of the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. It’s a role he will be returning to shortly, in a Disney+ original prequel series entitled The Little Town. The show will follow Evans’ Gaston and his sidekick, LeFou (played by series co-creator Josh Gad) in their early adventures, before they cross paths with Belle.
Of course, no-one’s slick as Gaston, no-one’s quick as Gaston, no-one’s neck’s as incredibly thick as Gaston. Which means Evans has been busy working out in quarantine, getting back into peak shape in anticipation of filming—and he’s not been shy about showing off the results of all that hard work on his socials.
Just one week after sharing a post-workout sweaty selfie from his home gym which provided a generous glimpse of the progress he’s been making, Evans has uploaded another physique shot; this time, a “before and after” shot which highlights the gains he’s acquired over the last eight months—including his shredded six-pack abs.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Evans’ default state is shirtless, or in even greater state of undress. He’s frequently photographed rocking a speedo, and has no reservations about showing full-frontal nudity in his movies; any guy who saw Ma will be unable to remember his bedroom scene without involuntarily crossing their legs. One can only assume that his forthcoming project with Disney will involve flashing less flesh… although it wouldn’t be Gaston without a flex or two.
