Huge congrats are in order for Kayla Itsines, who just became a mom! The personal trainer gave birth to a baby girl late last week.
Both Kayla and her new daughter, Arna Leia Pearce (who has a full head of hair, BTW), are doing well, a publicist for Kayla told WomensHealthMag.com. Little Arna, who is Kayla’s first child with husband Tobi Pearce, weighed just over 7 pounds and was 18.5 inches long.
“We are so excited for this chapter of our lives,” Kayla and Tobi said in a press release. “Little Arna is an absolute blessing, and we absolutely adore her. We are really taking this time to enjoy these moments together and to be close as a family. It has been an amazing journey and we can’t believe she is finally in our arms!”
Kayla had a C-section and is recovering, her publicist said. And, because she’s Kayla Itsines, she’s “focusing on self-care” right now, her rep said.
Kayla also shared the happy news on Instagram on Monday with this sweet post:
🌸Welcome to the world – Arna Leia Pearce 💛 I just stared into Tobis eyes the whole time during delivery, nervously whispering “please let her be healthy, please be okay, please be okay” and Tobi kept repeating “I love you so much – she’s going to be healthy it’s okay just breathe it’s okay”. We both were crying. In that second, we heard her cry for the first time, the doctors and nurses examined her quickly, bought her over to us and said “she is absolutely perfect”. My doctor said “Look at that hair and those cheeks! Amazing!” I don’t even know how to describe how I felt in that moment. I looked over at Tobi who looked like the proudest Dad I’ve ever seen, with tears running down his face he gave me a kiss on the forehead and whispered “she’s so perfect, I love you”. She is perfect indeed! From the start, she knew exactly who we were and was instantly calm. Tobi went into ‘Dad mode’ straight away. From someone who made jokes the whole 9 months about not being able to change a diaper … to now not wanting to let ANYONE change her because he wants to help – has made me love him even MORE. Tobi wraps her up and cuddles her and she goes straight to sleep 💤 She’s a happy quiet bubba who LOVES her big greek family😍 As for me, I ended up having a cesarean, as recommended by the doctor. I was a little bit sore, but after a couple of days I was generally fine, just no lifting other than Arna. Now, I just need to rest, eat good food, drink lots of water and I’ll be okay! I feel so BLESSED right now. I AM blessed to have Tobi and my family be there every day. I am so thankful to have the most amazing doctor and midwives ever to help me. This experience has been amazing for me and I am proud to say that💛🌸. Thank you everyone for being SO amazing!! We are so in love and happy. Holding her for the first time in our arms was truly the best day of our life💕

Kayla announced back in December that she was expecting her first child. “I’ve wanted kids ever since I met Tobi and it’s something we have always talked about,” Kayla said at the time. “It turns out that when we were ready it was just perfect timing.”
Not long after, Kayla shared that pregnancy had already changed her workout routine. “For the first 16 weeks I had morning sickness, was nauseous, and felt really tired,” Kayla said. “I’ve increased the amount of low-intensity cardio I’ve been doing and reduced the amount of high-intensity exercise.”
Kayla also shared a no-equipment prenatal workout with Women’s Health when she was visiting the U.S. recently:
While pregnant, Kayla posted several photos on Instagram of herself at the gym with her bump.

She revealed just a few days ago that her doctor recommended she take a temporary break from resistance training—and her baby was born soon after!
#38weekspregnant!!! Ladies, as I am now so late in my term, my health care professional and I have decided that I will be taking a temporary break from resistance training in the gym, from now until birth! My focus will now be on taking extra care to ensure the safe delivery of our baby muffin 😁I will still be posting content BUT just no more of my #activepregnancy content (for the short term)! The coming weeks will be all about COMMUNITY #BBGcommunity. I will stay active by going for short walks and general nesting (as you do haha). Once my little muffin is born, I will update you throughout my birth “recovery”! Thankyou for your support 💛 www.kaylaitsines.com/app
