The 2022 Subaru Share the Love® Event Raises Over $2 Million for Vulnerable Animals

Last year, for the fifteenth consecutive year, the ASPCA was one of four national charities to participate in the Subaru Share the Love Event, which took place between November 17, 2022, and January 3, 2023. During this time, Subaru donated $250 to the customer’s choice of participating charities for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased at 638 participating Subaru retailers nationwide. As a result, Subaru helped raise awareness for animals in need and nearly $2.4 million for our nation’s most vulnerable animals.

Throughout 2022, we collaborated with Subaru to distribute over $731,000 of grant funding to 185 animal welfare organizations throughout the U.S. This funding supported a variety of pet events in partnership with local Subaru retailers. In addition to adoptions, many of these events provided critical services for animals in need, including microchipping, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries and more. The 2022 program positively impacted a reported total of nearly 11,000 animals.

Strudel found a loving home at an adoption event co-hosted by Mountain Humane and Twin Falls Subaru in Twin Falls, Idaho. This event was made possible by a grant from the ASPCA and Subaru of America, Inc.

Since the inception of our partnership with Subaru in 2008, the ASPCA has received nearly $36 million in vital funds, which has helped impact the rescue, transport, well-being and adoption of nearly 116,000 animals across the United States.

“Bringing together communities, individuals, animal shelters, and Subaru retailers across America under a single purpose, the Subaru Share the Love Event is a shining example of the power of compassion and collaboration to vitally help animals in need,” said Matt Bershadker, ASPCA president and CEO. “Together, we’ve secured services and adoption opportunities for more than 116,000 vulnerable animals—an amazing accomplishment we proudly share and celebrate with everyone involved.”

We thank Subaru of America for another successful year. We also would like to thank everyone who supported the ASPCA through not only the 2022 Subaru Share the Love Event, but every event since this collaboration began in 2008.
