Prepare your gag reflex, people.
Dr Sandra Lee’s new TV show has finally dropped and it’s literally the stuff of zit zapping dreams.
The series (aptly named Dr Pimple Popper: This Is Zit) follows four patients on their journey to clear skin. And if the premiere which aired on TLC in the US overnight is anything to go by it’s going to be even more hard-core than her infamous viral YouTube clips.
The California-based dermatologist’s first point of business? Tackling a football sized epidermoid cyst on the back of a homeless man.
So gross. So satisfying. Such g-damn great television viewing.
In a Facebook clip promoting the episode, Lee explains that the giant fluid-filled lump can develop when the skin has “turned under and formed a little sac” and can resemble oatmeal, a hardboiled egg or wet newspaper.
“Isn’t it absolutely fascinating what comes out of our skin?” she asks in a separate post. Yes, yes it is.
“[This Is Zit has] behind-the-scenes footage of what I do in my office, how I go about doing it, more explanation about the types of things that I pop out, a lot of my favourite videos, a lot of my top pops – they are just for you,” she explained on Instagram.
As if we needed another excuse to tune in.
