Tracee Ellis Ross, 47, has been using her social media platform to help fans care for their mental health over the last few months, but when it comes to her own, she that simply letting loose can have healing power.
The High Note star’s latest Instagram tip on how to clear your mind: Dance like no one’s watching. “When you feel stuck or stagnant and can’t find your way through, breathe and move,” she wrote in a new post. “Move through it. Release through movement. Shake it out. Hold space for yourself, make space for yourself, allow process and love yourself the whole way through.”
In the video, you can see Tracee getting into a groove in what appears to be her living room as “Heavy Balloon” by Fiona Apple blares in the background. The Black-ish actress swings her upper body in time to the music and walks in place, before finally bending over in a stretch and shaking her butt in time to the music.

People were all about Tracee’s bootylicious moves in the comments. “Breathe, Move and release through movement 🙏🏽 yes!” one fan wrote. “How do you have so much energy! Gimme some! 😭💗💗💗,” another said.
While Tracee’s message about movement is serious #wordstoliveby, it’s kind of impossible not to notice the fact that her butt is super toned—especially when it’s right there in front of your face.
There’s a reason for that: Tracee doesn’t mess around in the fitness department. She’s really big into Tracy Anderson’s dance cardio workouts, and she does them often. “It keeps me strong and long with a little jiggle. Just like I like!” Tracee wrote on Instagram in April.(Tracee has been regularly doing those workouts at home lately, BTW.)
But Tracee is also cool with taking breaks when she needs them. “Life is in progress and sometimes that means stopping your routine. And that’s OK,” Tracee said on Instagram last year.
On the nutrition front, Tracee told People that she likes “simple, whole foods” and avoids dairy. She also aims to have about four liters of water a day.
And, of course, throwing in some daily movement doesn’t hurt either. Here. For. It.
