For plastic Cutlery, plastic cotton swabs, and disposable cups made of Styrofoam is getting closer. The Federal government will launch this Wednesday the implementation of the EU Directive on the way – environmentalists and waste-disposal challenge but improvements still.
Environment Minister Svenja Schulze (SPD) said on German TV show ‘Good Morning Germany: “Many of the disposable products made of plastic are superfluous and not a sustainable use of resources.”
By the end of 2018, the decision to prohibit, as from the summer of 2021 in the whole of the EU, disposable plastic products, for which there are good Alternatives, and fell in Brussels.
The subject cotton swab, plastic Cutlery and plates, straws, stirrers for coffee, balloon sticks and Styrofoam cups and containers for Take-away food.

An extension of the ban on all disposable drinks cups and food boxes made of plastic would be necessary, as well as a binding for reusable promotion and a comprehensible delineation of disposable and reusable products.
