Chris Hemsworth’s Gains Are Becoming a Problem for His Stunt Double

The God-level gains that Chris Hemsworth continues to pack on as the actor preps for Thor 4 (and possibly a future Hulk Hogan biopic) are stressing out at least one mere mortal: the stuntman who makes a living trying to match him rep-for-rep.

In a candid interview with the Australian morning show Fitzy & Wippa, Hemsworth body double Bobby Holland Hanton, 33, opened up about the challenges of keeping up with the increasingly jacked 37-year-old action hero.

Asked about the now-viral photograph of Hemsworth showing off his biceps while flipping a tire mid-workout, Hanton joked, “I text him and I’m like, thanks very much dude, this is going to be even harder this time.”

Hanton added that his training requires also requires him to step up his diet and eating plan. “We’re on the same diet. He’s now the biggest he’s ever been, and now I need to be the biggest I’ve ever been,” Hanton said. “Every two hours we’re eating. It’s become a chore. I don’t enjoy eating anymore.”

Hanton, who has also worked as a body double for A-listers like Henry Cavill and Ryan Reynolds, was quick to downplay recent reports that Hemsworth is dealing with a serious back injury suffered on the set of Thor: Love and Thunder.

“Carrying around the extra weight is difficult and hard on the ligaments,” Hanton said. “But he’s all good. Look at him. He’s a man mountain.”

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently scheduled to be released in May of 2022.
