Fitness blogger Anna Victoria has made a name for herself by keeping it real on social media. In January, she posted side-by-side photos on Instagram of herself with and without belly rolls to prove that everyone has bad angles. And earlier this month, she posted more side-by-side photos taken “two seconds apart” on Instagram to show how different people can look in various poses.

Now, her followers have gotten in on the action with their own “two-second transformation” photos. Anna posted a slew of before and after pics from her followers on her Instagram page Thursday, pointing out that nothing changed about each woman’s body other than her pose. “The message of this is not that one side is better than the other, it’s that both sides are beautiful and neither one nor the other should carry more weight and determine your self-worth,” she says in the caption.

“There’s nothing wrong with taking posed photos and loving them, loving the way high-waisted pants give you more curves or suck you all in, there’s nothing wrong with being ecstatic over a good photo and wanting to share it all over the place,” she adds.

The only problem though, she says, is if you get such a high from those stylised moments and photos that you don’t accept yourself for who you are. “These photos aren’t revealing ‘flaws,’ they’re a statement that ‘flaws’ don’t define you,” she says. “They only have as much power as you give them and these photos are the first step to ridding yourself of that negative self-talk and impossible standards we have created for ourselves.”
As always, we’re grateful for the pep talk, Anna Victoria!
