Hands up who’s counting the hours ‘til home time, simply because a) they’re so tired, and b) they’re so desperate to watch the next ep of House of Cards/The Handmaid’s Tale/Narcos/Pretty Little Liars? [ed’s note: no-one in this office is watching that last one. We swear].
But surprise, surprise, all that binging isn’t doing wonders for our health. A new study has found that more than a third of British adults admit to losing sleep or making themselves tired the next day because they’re watching more than one episode of the same show at least once a month. That’s almost 10 million people in the UK alone.

A quarter of those surveyed also admitted to neglecting household chores to get their TV fix, BBC reports.
The study was conducted by British media watchdog Ofcom. “The days of waiting a week for the next episode are largely gone, with people finding it hard to resist watching multiple episodes around the house or on the move,” Ofcom consumer group director Lindsey Fussell told the BBC.
