Jennifer Lopez Says Her Body Is The Result Of Cutting Out These 2 Things

Jennifer Lopez is on the latest cover of InStyle and, in true J.Lo fashion, she looks…wow, just wow.

J.Lo shared a few tidbits with the magazine about how she manages to basically look 29 at age 49. The biggest: She doesn’t drink caffeine, doesn’t do alcohol, and gets lots of sleep. “I’ve taken care of myself, and now it shows,” she says.

She also says she’s added weight training to her fitness routines since she’s realised she loses muscle whenever she dances too much. The only sign that she’s getting older (since clearly she doesn’t look it): J.Lo says she’s been squinting at her phone lately and may need reading glasses soon. Also, her back hurts sometimes.

She insists that body image has never been something she’s struggled with. “I didn’t realize what I was doing—I was just being myself,” she says of all the attention on her (gorgeous) curves when she first became famous. “In my family, curves were glorified and part of the culture. It was just like, ‘Jennifer has a big butt, and it’s good.’”

But yeah, like she said, maintaining that bod didn’t just happen by accident. Both she and her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, love working out at TruFusion studios, which offer a variety of workouts done in rooms heated up to 48 degrees celsius. (I’m sweating just thinking about it.) At TruFusion, you can do power, yin, aerial or vinyasa yoga, battle ropes and boxing, bootcamp, cycling, kettlebells, barre, Pilates, or TRX, Christina Pazcoguin, instructor and assistant studio manager previously told WomensHealthMag.com.

She’s also at the gym on a regular basis. J.Lo even shared a photo of her (jacked) abs on Instagram on her birthday back in July.

Jennifer told Us Weekly in 2016, per Hollywood Life, that she likes to get her workouts out of the way in the a.m. “I work out three or four times a week. When I’m in New York, I work out with David Kirsch—he’s an amazing trainer,” she said. “When I’m in L.A., I work with Tracy Anderson. I like the balance that they both give me. They have two totally different approaches. I like switching it up with my body.”

Boyfriend Alex Rodriguez (you know, the former New York Yankees baseball player) also frequently posts videos of J.Lo crushing it at the gym on his own Instagram, admitting that she frequently kicks his ass during their workouts.

All I have to say is…I’ll have what she’s having.
