Victoria's Secret Model Candice Swanepoel Is Not Here for Critique About Her Belly 12 Days After Childbirth

Twelve days after Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel, 29, delivered her second son, Ariel, photographers took pics of her on the beach wearing a two-piece swimsuit, as one does at the beach in the summer.

Less than two weeks later, on Wednesday, she posted the photos in an Instagram story that proves she has absolutely nothing to hide.

And because humans can be awful, she addressed the haters before they could say their bit: “This is me 12 days after having my son. If you have something bad to say about it, check yourself. Society can be cruel,” she typed over the photos. “Beauty standards are sometimes impossible for women these days.

AMEN!

“I’m not ashamed to show my postpartum tummy,” she continued in her story. “I am proud actually. I carried my son for nine months in there. I think I’ve earned the right to have a little tummy.”

Of course, you don’t need to carry a child or be a model to rationalize any part of your body—it’s why Swanepoel addressed the misconception herself: “Is it because I’m a model? Well, we are normal people too so let me enjoy the beach in peace please.”
