With access to the top makeup artists and significantly more money than the average person, celebrities can easily slap on some of the most expensive foundation available without blinking an eye, like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley did to attend the premiere of her fiancé Jason Statham's new movie, The Meg. That eye she isn't blinking, however, was expertly covered in drugstore eye shadow and mascara that adds up to only about $20.
Makeup artist Patrick Ta shared a photo of Huntington-Whiteley to Instagram, giving followers a close-up look at the gorgeous high-low makeup combo he did for the model's most recent red-carpet appearance. "Tonight With Iconic @rosiehw For The Meg Premiere In Los Angeles. Styled By @emmajademorrison Hair By @jennychohair Makeup By @patrickta," he started the caption, following the credits with some of the product details. "Eyeshadow: @maybelline 'Soda Pop Pallet' Cola Float In Crease And Root Beer On the Lash Line. Foundation By @lamer Soft Fluid Foundation."
La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20 goes for a cool $120, thanks in part to it containing the brand's "miracle broth." The Maybelline New York Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette, however, will cost a mere $14 when it launches next month.

The folks at Maybelline New York tell us that Ta applied the shade Rootbeer from the Soda Pop palette to Huntington-Whiteley's crease with a fluffy brush, blending upwards. Then, he applied the shade Cola Float to her outer crease for additional depth. He mixed the two shades all over the lid to achieve a smoky eye, and then applied them along the lower lash line to get a '90s European glam look. It was all topped off with none other than Maybelline New York Volum' Express The Falsies Washable Mascara, which runs about $8.
The perfectly matching rosy-bronze lip color is yet another drugstore — specifically, Maybelline New York — pick: SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Loyalist, applied not with the doe-foot applicator, but a separate lip brush, so Ta could control the opacity.
